What the HELL are puzzle boxes for?

I bought a puzzle box out in the desert at a vendor which vanished when day cam and am wondering what the hell they are useful for? The vendor was a gharu wandering mage and was standing were a portal stood minutes before to the floating city. She sold all the advanced peas and these weird Puzzle Boxes for 100 pyreals. I tried getting more but she is gone. I'd appreciate any imput...any... give me @tell in game or reply.

If you find a guy named "Seltor the Ursuin Hunter" or something like that he'll sell you a book. Put the book into the box or use the box on the book, and voila! You get a decoded book to take to Cragstone. It's just the lore behind the mage armor, I believe. (Could be lore for singularity weapons, I forget)
