Fmr. Vice Pres. Al Gore Speech on Bush Admin. Iraq Policy (08/07/2003)
Skip all the boring introductions and move 5:20 minutes in. It should be a real eye opener for any Bush supporters. _________________ Tam De L'Thor

Yes it was a real eye opener, Thank GOD I voted for BUSH! As anyone can see from this video Gore is anti american pro Iraq. Who cares if they didn't have wmd, we needed a reason to go in there and get rid of a mass murderer who had the power of that country, the wealth of that country at his disposal.
Gore says Saddam doesn't back terrorists in so many words. Give me a break.
If anything Gore should fire who wrote that speech for him, then go fire who edited it and then go fire all the aids that read it and said yeah go read this one.
In my eyes this speech is a great example of a person I don't want to lead this country. |

I have to agree w/ Flurry on this one completely and then some.....
I watched that shitty speach and I am demanding my time back!
If his administartion would have TAKEN ACTION when IRAQ kicked out the inspectors who's goal it was to disarm IRAQ so we wouldn't have to invade them and do it ourselves this never would have happened....
GORE/CLINTON should shut the fuck up since they didn't do jack shit about IRAQ or even the WAR ON TERROR when they were in office. They just need to fade away....
BTW, i blame Clinton/Gore for many of the problems we have otday from the economy to iraq to the war on terror that they did nothing about...
oh wait.. they did do something.. in the middle of the monica L. issue clinton bombed an asprin factory in afganistan... way to distract the public... oh wait that's right he also had the chance to obtain Usama Bin Laden but didn't take that oportunity either... and yes back then the us did know he was a threat to us...
Nim
Oh and before anyone posts anything saying otherwise...

Just a question here, now I didn't watch the video (and don't intend too, I can't stand Gore, but yes I voted for him, yup you got it, Bush was worse to me).
I can get the general gist of the the speech from the few posts here and I have to wonder at some of the comments, specially from Nim. I can't help but wonder what it was EXACTLY that Clinton/Gore did wrong?
I mean I can't help but notice that EVERYTHING was Clintons fault. Why is this? Now before you start thinking I'm some bleeding heart tree hugger here. I have served my country in the Army and I consider myself to be more of a patriot than your avg citizen (the fact that I've lost blood for this country imo gives me the right to think this way).
What I don't get is how is it Clinton's fault? That statement all by itself is an absurdity. Here is a bleeding heart public that completely goes off the handle when he sends in troops to Somalia to do something about terrorism and everyone just completely rails him for it. Then they rail him for not doing anything, I'm confused here.
Will someone please explain to me why Bush is a hero for doing what Clinton got completely reamed for doing? Why exactly is Bush a hero (yeah, when monkeys fly out of my butt)? Why do we despise one draft dodger then love another?
Just wondering is all. |

I'll just give you one of my favorite quotes pertaining to your draft dodging question.
| Quote: | Like him or not, George W. Bush put on a uniform and served his country. Bill Clinton evaded his responsibility.
While Bush was learning to fly fighter jets, Clinton was protesting the war in England and sexually assaulting young girls.
Bush served his country. Clinton did not.
Personally, we'll take a weekend warrior over a draft dodger any day of the week. |

No comment on Gore's speech. It proved to me one thing.. As Flurry said... Thank god I voted for Bush.
And Clinton came out with his own speech awhile ago supporting Bush. Heh. I found that funny.. Though I believe it is because Hillary wants in the door in '08. _________________ 1: "Newb!"

To get rid of a mass murderer? lol. Are you that blind that you cannot see that the U.S allows mass murderers to stay in power in other countries that don't have any strategic value? Its all about politics. If thats all you have to back up invading Iraq, then thats a lame reason. If you're going to argue, don't spout propaganda. Oh no, look at all the bad things Saddam did(which I agree he should have been removed for), but take a look at our own country. The US is one of the largest participators in the slave trade(according to this months National Geographic). Why is there no war on all the "horrible acts against humanity" done to Mexicans in this country? That's just an example. To be against the war in Iraq DOES NOT make you anti american and it is stupid to say so. _________________ ~Titus~

You completely missed my point C-T-F.
| Quote: |
mean I can't help but notice that EVERYTHING was Clintons fault. Why is this? |
In Tam's Post and in the Gore interview he repeatedly bashes bush for stuff that isn't completely his fault. Many of the things were from when Clinton/Gore were in office. Gore and his admin didn't do jack shit to prevent 9-11. How many years were the terrorists planning and learning in the UNITED states? The vast majority was under the Clinton/Gore admin. For Gore to blame that kind of stuff on Bush is complete hypocracy. That is what i am pointing out...
| Quote: | | What I don't get is how is it Clinton's fault? That statement all by itself is an absurdity | .
He had the chance to get UBL in our custody (Infact a few hours after the 9-11 terror plot clinton was quoted on CNN i belive saying "as soon as that second plane hit I knew it was UBL" or something along those lines.... my point is he KNEW about them and didn't do jack shit.
Just like he didn't do jack shit when Iraq Kicked out the inspectors and defied the international community.
Just like he decided to only shoot a cruise missile into an afgan asprin factory.
Just like he gave into North Korea which allowed them to build nuclear capabilities the whole time lying to us and everyone else.....
What it comes down to is Clinton/Gore didn't have the guts or nerves to do what needed to be done to protect the US and it's interests because they didn't want to run the risk of offending other nations.
Now he did do some good stuff. When Clinton decided to take action in Yugoslovia I was truely impressed. That is one time when he did what needed to be done.
MY POINT BEYOND ALL ELSE IS AND WHY I AM SO NEGATIVE OF THE CLINTON/GORE ADMIN IS BECAUSE GORE IN THAT INTERVIEW IS BLAMING BUSH FOR SHIT THAT HIS ADMINISTRATION IT'S SELF WAS INCREADABLY WEAK ON AT BEST. WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO BLAME OTHERS BY PASSING OFF THE BLAME OR SCAPE GOATING PEOPLE FOR SHIT THAT THEY THEMSELVES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR I GET PISSED AND VERY VOCAL!!!
Don't forget it! _________________ |

Hey stupid i am not going to sit here and write out a list of a million reasons why he should have been removed or why the US invaded.
You use the word propaganda, I use the word facts. There is only so much one nation can do and when we do what's right, look what the rest of the world says or does, people like YOU.
Now if you want to come here with your nonsense, post about the subject we are talking about, if you want to talk about your national geographic article why don't you answer this question.
The United States has only 4.62% of the world's population, only .05% of the worlds approximated slave population and it was named as only 1 of 117 countries where 100 or more persons were kept in slave conditions. Additionally, the estimated slave population in the U.S. is only .56% of the total U.S. population. Yet, the National Geographic article "21st Century Slaves" devoted 42% of the printed article and 28% the photographs to the "slave problem" in the United States. Why?
Oh and make your own thread if you can do that. |

Actually I believe that's exactly what Gore said. I think he also said that the Republican Congress concluded the same thing. I guess that makes both Gore and Congress anti-American.
I don't think you listened to his whole speech Flurry. Gore goes on to say many more specific things.

Why do I not care that there have not been hard, iron bound ties connecting Saddam to Al-Q? (There was an "ex" terrorist leader discovered in Iraq that was treated in Baghdad)
Because, frankly, Saddam was a terrorist himself in all practical purposes, and a threat to the stability and well-being of the world.

I thought it more like a comedy show. He had some great jokes in that speech. And yes, I watched the entire thing. _________________ 1: "Newb!"

I sat through 44.45 minutes of bullshit, the only thing i felt the need to comment on was his crap on Iraq.
False impressions this false impressions that, give me a break. When it comes down to politics and white house matters he does and says the same thing any other party would say when there is another party in office.
We do have work to do Al Gore, one is to make sure pompus morons like you never reach the office.
