| Meeting Agenda 3/2/00 |
| I have tried to compile the information that was sent to me by the
members of the council and form an agenda around that information
(I am sending this to the list as well as to the list of council members
-- sorry if it is a duplication for some people -- but I wanted everyone
to be able to read what is happening with the council). |

| CHARTER: LIST OF SUGGESTIONS SENT IN BY
COUNCIL MEMBERS: |

MISSION STATEMENT (as eloquently written by Mizu-No):
We are The Source
We are The Source of Honor for our members (this does not mean
you Ramatha Ka)
We are The Source of Kindness for strangers (this does not mean
you Ramatha Ka)
We are The Source of Fear to the Honorless (this means you Ramatha
Ka)
We are The Source of Pain to the evil of this land (this means you
Ramatha Ka)
We have been The Source of Warmth when snow covered the land
We have been The Source of Light when shadows covered the land
We are The Source
We have been The Source since the first footfalls on Dereth
We will always BE The Source
We are The Source
BRING IT!!
|
|
SOURCE PRINCIPALS - you must do these:
* Always bring honor to The Source, always take the high road
* Do the right thing
* Help and encourage others (body recoveries, newbies, sharing armor/weapons/etc.)
* No buying vassals
* Don't steal kills
* Don't jump in line at a campsite
* Have fun and make friends
* Remember, everyone can have a bad day, but that doesn't make them
a bad person
|
|
SOURCE ETIQUETTE - you should do these:
* Be kind to others
* Don't kill rabbits and cows (unless absolutely necessary)
* Don't beg
* Try to answer when spoken to
* Don't message the monarch -- message your patron, message his/her
patron first
* Play, don't exploit the game
|
|
SOURCE TITLES:
We need to finish the work that Mizu started on titles and the
quests to obtain these titles.
|
|
NEW MEMBERS:
* A new member should be at least L10 (this doesn't mean we ignore
charactes that are level 1-9 -- it just means they technically can't
pledge til they are L10)
* A new member must be sponsored by a Source Member
* The member should have been a part of at least one Source outing
(even informal)
* One other Source member (besides the sponsor) should vouch for
the new member (the witness).
* The sponsor must send the character name, profession, level, current
patron, number of vassals, and e-mail address of the new member
to the council along with the name of the sponsor and the witness.
In addition the sponsor should note if a patron has been selected.
* The council should then review the request and if necessary appoint
a patron
* Upon receiving approval from the council, the sponsor can inform
the new member that they have been accepted into the source and
should plan for a time to conduct the pledging ceremony.
A ceremony has been suggested to accompany the pledging of a new
vassal:
* The new member should pledge allegiance in a ceremony in Yanshi,
right in town if possible--in the meeting hall if it is crowded.
* The new member should inscribe a parchment stating that they will
serve to uphold and honor the charter of The Source. All such parchments
should be collected and stored on a council member's mule.
* A token item (of no material value) should be inscribed by the
patron promising to aid and teach the new member and reminding the
new member that above all, The Source is about Honor.
* Even if the new member has already sworn allegiance because of
time committments or to maximize earned experience, the ceremony
should still be conducted at some point.

DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS:
Hopefully we will never need this. But we should decide on some
basic ground rules in case someone has blatantly disregarded the
Charter or the integrity of The Source.
- what actions shall be punishible
- who shall determine guilt/innocence
- what shall the punishment be
