Here are some things you probably knew, but I'd rather type this
stuff, than do REAL work, so...
- The MAX vitae you can have is 40%. So if you're at 40%, you're
at the bottom. No place to go but up!
- Vitae is good in that it gives you something to work on. Another
goal. (And a goal I set QUITE often, unfortunately.)
- The higher the vitae, the easier it is to get rid of it, on
a point by point basis. Well, let me rephrase. You will have an
easier time losing 1 point of vitae at 10%, than 1 point at 5%.
It's that LAST point that's the hardest, because it costs the
most XP to lose it.
- That last point may be misleading. It's obviously better to
have 5% vitae then 10%. But if you have 10%, the first five points
you lose will be easier than the next five.. Does that make sense?
- Don't ever feel like your character is _bad_ because he has
a high vitae. I've had my vitae over 20% before, and I don't think
my character's bad. The reasons are many: Bad luck, impatience,
lag, not being patient, etc. If you're careful, you should be
able to work off any amount of vitae.
|
| Other things I've learned: |
| Corpse Recovery - If you think you're about to die, hit F10
and look at your coords. Or at least one of the two coords. When you
get back to the area, hit the '[' or ']' keys to locate objects near
you, including your corpse. Keep hitting it until you find it. |
| ']' keys - This is also useful for finding cool loot that
others either don't need, or couldn't get because they died. |
| Be kind to each other, even people who aren't in The Source. Be
generous to all. |
| Hang out with awesome people like Miko if you're a mage. He'll heal
you and you can save mana. Just make sure and heal him if he needs
it as well. |
| If you have a cat, and it mews, and sounds like a drudge, you need
to either get rid of the cat, or take a break from AC for a while.
|
| Spend time with your kids, pets, spouses/girlfriends from time
to time. Like when the Zone's down, or something. |
| I think they need to make arena's where you can go in and have a
PK battle with another person but not stay PK. I've got some interesting
strategies against fighter types I'd love to try, but don't want to
go PK full time to do it. |
| Virindi are broken like Masticore. |
| If you're in a group, watch your party members for little blood
shooting off their body, and listen for grunting noises. Use the '.'
or ',' keys to cycle through everyone until you find them and heal
them, or if you can see them, just click on them. The . and , keys
are good for targetting someone running around like a madman. Oh,
and if you see something cast a spell at someone, chances are they
took damage from it. It's REALLY hard to resist spells at higher levels
because the formula for Magic Resistance is so crazy. So heal them,
because they probably need it. |
| Is there ever a time when Stamina to Mana II is better than Stamina
to Mana I? I mean, it costs more, and the gain I think would be less
than the meager difference of what you gain. Unless Mana Conversion
kicks in. Anyone prefer Stam to Mana III or II over I? Oh, and if
you have 500 Stamina, then yeah, I guess III is definitely better
than II or I. |
| Drain Stamina is a great spell in that you can get little loops
going against creature. Like Wild Monouga's. I'll hit him with Cold
Vuln, hit him with Frost bolts until he gets close. Then I'll do a
quick Stam to Mana, Drain Stamina, then finish him off. Then My mana
is almost full again. |
| Another neat trick I've heard of but don't use is to make a mage
with Healing and Life. Sounds Redundant, but then you get Health to
Mana, and use kits to heal yourself. I think that's a waste of skill
points, but it does sound interesting at least. |
