  New Character
by Hakeem (2/10/00)

In my spare AC time I've been experimenting with some ideas. I really like unarmed guys, because, well, they're broken. I also like the idea of crossbow, because at higher levels, these things just do some serious damage. So, ok, they're slow. So what? If you kill something on the first shot, who cares how long it takes to reload?

Then I thought about what I would like to have long term, and what most of the stats are based on in the beginning.

Melee D - Coord + Quick
Crossbow - Coord
Unarmed - Str + Coord

These are the stats that have the most to do with fighting. Bashing, shooting, and evading.
Endurance is also important, or in theory.
Well, Ok, not in theory, but it is damned important. But I mean.. I can raise health and stamina by themselves. And.. Aw, what the heck, I want to try something.
Hakeem's New Char
Str 100 End 10
Coord 100 Quick 100
Focus 10 Self 10
specialize: Melee Defense
trained: Crossbow, Healing, Item Enchantment, Unarmed

So I make this guy last night with the following stats:

I specialize Melee D, train in crossbow, healing, and item (I have unarmed automatically as a Sho) I think I pick up something else like lore maybe also, not sure.

STR: 100
COO: 100
QUI: 100

And well, the other things are 10 each.. But look at my main 3 stats. 100!! STARTING!!

But of course this means that my stamina is 10, and my health is 5. Ok, so this hurts.
BUT!!!
Long term, this guy should be a wrecking machine, right? I mean, as long as I don't get hit, ya know?
I am pumping everything I have right now into Endurance, Stamina, and Health.
I haven't checked yet, but these are probably going to be pretty expensive to raise above 50.. Well, let's see. I can raise Endurance up to 50, which will give me 25 health, and 50 Stamina. I can also raise Health, and Stamina by themselves...
I think my main problem is going to be Stamina in the start. I'm evading like crazy now, except when I'm out of stamina. I am able to kill drudges pretty quickly, unless stamina goes out. So Stamina is my main focus right now.
This is probably going to be a sucky guy in the early term with potential to be strong later if i decide to stick with it.
I'll die frequently from the low stamina and health. And against things that use magic, I might as well, run. (100 quickness helps here)
Like I said, this guy is an experiment, and is built for the LONG term, not the short. Having my main fighting stats at 100 is nice, but maybe 90 each, with 40 Endurance would have been better. I'm not sure.
He's pretty fun to play though, and I think the long term potential is good.
