Mhali (or someone)
was busy yesterday. I log in sometimes and get 1k exp from
vassals. Sometimes 10k. Thats about average. Yesterday I logged
on and got 130k. Someone was busy.
Silent and I were
discussing last night how important vassals are to reaching high
level.
I think they are a raindrop in the bucket of
exp.
Druss has Leadership and 200 followers on HG, and I get
about a level every 3 weeks or so. Maybe a month.
Silent
has Leadership over 150, with 25 people under him that are level
40, that play ALL THE TIME.
All the exp he has got has not
amounted to one level of the current level he has
now.
You know how you get to high level?
You play a
lot.
Thats it.
If you see monarchs that are high level
that have a lot of vassals, they didn't get that way by vassal
xp. They just played the same character for a long time, and
thats why they have so many vassals, and they didn't reroll 5
times BECAUSE they had a lot of vassals. They stuck with their
gimped character.
Onwards.
Altered drudges ARE the
perfect monster.
Using my wand, I can whirling blade one for
40 points, he charges me ALONE out of a pack of four, attacks me
with lightning, and goes down in 15 swings. He drops me some
noble level loot, 12k exp, and I heal back to full, and draw
another.
I killed 4 in one buff session, and made 65k selling
in Teth.
My bloodthirsty wife wanted to go raid PKs (god is
she addicted to raiding now) and picked up Senator Lifestone and
we ended up finding Dread Lord Rock' a level 51 guy who attacked
me in Holtburg the other day, C came to my aid, and he
took off, and we could not catch him.
He was chatting
in Eastham when we came upon him.
I smashed him for a ton
first hit, Mare jumped in, and THEN he realizes whats going on
and goes into fight mode, and tries to drink a healing potion,
crit, dead.
6 Greater Mana stones.
Sen and I and sis
talk for a bit, rebuff, then check eastham again.
No
one.
as we are leaving for Holtburg...
He comes back
again, this time with a buffed acid katar, we beat him down, he
takes off.
He is faster than us, so this time, I let them
pull off my radar, and let him get fully engaged with Sister C,
since he thinks I am gone.
30 seconds later, I come screaming
up the hill, Senator Vulns him to piercing and Lightning, I hit
for 61 first hit from behind his sheild, he turns to run, crit
from behind, dead.
6 more greater mana
stones.
:-)
Mare talked with him afterwards and he was
very cool. I love cool guys.
We killed some more low
level pks, but the 12 greaters was the highlight.
How to
be a good PVP person without life.
Life sucks ass for pvp
Melee as far as I'm concerned.
If someone imp 5's me, and
acid 5's me, I'm gone. What good has your life done
you?
If someone imp 5's and fire vuln5's me, you're still
gonna die, what good has your life done?
If you dare to
pull out a wand (as a melee) and expect to drain me while I hit
you with big red axe, you are going to die.
For mages, life
is amazing, period. For a pvp melee fight, I'd rather just count
on my skills.
Skills for PVPs without life.
1) test
all areas of your opponennt armor looking for something that is
not uber buffed, look for bare feet, metal helms.
2) Learn
how to jump. There is a stutter as your cliet updates what my
client is doing. Chase me around Yanshi some time and try to hit
me. I'll jump from one buiding to another, and your client cant
keep up with where I am.
3. Never PVP with
Vitae.
4. Never PVP without healing potions, stam potions,
light burden, and your best healing kit hot keyed.
5.
Wear EVERY protect you have. My PVP skills have gone up since I
started wearing all my jewelry all the time when we raid.
Someone cold vulns me, I already have the protect up.
6.
Know when to shurov.
7. Never heal with a sheild down or your
back to an opponent, you are wasting time and will die. Get a
sheild up, face your opponent, or standing and healing is
useless. I've seen more source die to this mistake than any
other.
8. If an attacker gets behind you, move. Make all your
attackers attack through sheild, or don't fight. (unless they
are like, 10 levels below you and are not hitting even from
behind.)
9. Have a backup weapon. If your buffs fall, in the
middle of a fight, have the Dagger of tickola, ravenous axe
dagger sword, hollow katar, whatever.
10. Learn how to
jump heal. Monika updated her page and explained it much better.
In a PVP fight last night, I ran, healed to full, the whole time
I was running.
How to jump heal.
Must have backpack
on hot spot.
Must be pushing forward not autorun.
My
backpack is 8, healing kit is on 7.
Power up a 20% jump. This
is essential. Too high, too low, it does not work.
the
second you release jump, IMMEDIATLY hit healing kit, self, as
fast as you can.
heres the simplified
version.
space bar for one second, 8, 7
keep running,
nothing will appear to happen when you do it right, then it will
say "you heal yourself for 30 points."
I was running through
the Obsidian plain, got to half, no safe spot to stop, healed as
I ran, it was AWESOME.
If its not working, you are
either
Jumping too low or too high - 20% is what
works.
Or, not hitting the 8,7 keys fast enough.
Good
luck
