Spec war mage templates 9:19am EST - Gryff

1) you can't stand in a pool and macro war magic and if you spec war that leaves little room to spec anything else (when was the last time you saw someone play a mage to lvl26?)

2) At 28 skill creds to spec war you get ripped off. Even with the new spells your best dam you will only do about 190 pts tops without a vuln, and if you spec war a spec life score is hard to get. Until they find a fix for war magic you would be better off spec'g life and throwing dinner plates at imperiled creatures.

3) There is very little reason to spec war in the first place. Why spend 40 mana and burn 5000 comps casting lvl 6 and 7 war spells when you can be much more effective casting lvl 1 drains? As far as I know only grievvers are drain resistant and they are not worth killing if you are a mage anyway.

Healing Kit Exploit 2:28pm EST - Kumo Miyamoto

You don't know the healing kit bug?? It's so easy.

1) Do Not use up your healing kits. I try to leave mine with 2 uses left.

2) Find a healer where this bug works. I believe it works on any original city's healer like Yanshi/Sawato and not on any of the patched in Cities like Ayan or the ones on the Island.

3) Open up your pack with healing kits

4) Click once on the healer or target the healer.

5) Turn your character about 45% away from facing the healer directly.

6) Hit the keyboard key you have programed to use an item. I have remapped it to U.

7) Immediatly pick up your partially used healing kit.

8) Wait for the Healer to speak to you and bring up their menu of items.

9) Put the healing kit you picked up into a different inventory slot in your backpack/inventory.

10) You have just refreshed your healing kit for FREE!!

Source Meeting 11:38am EST - Deao

Ok, all of you lovely beautiful Source people, this is some of the stuff I've come up with...which is, admittedly, not too much.

I can do more, and take it further, but first thing I need is a group consensus on where we should have it.

As far as dates, I'm looking at Memorial day weekend. For those of you not from the States, that's the last Monday in May. May 25th-28th, Friday through Monday. I figure we are looking at 6 months advance warning, so NO EXCUSES :)

Now, for the big question. WHERE? Well, I want it to go to a Source vote. Since I don't have the web savvy that alot of other people in the Source have, there won't be a website to vote on.

Instead, we're gonna do it Florida Style. Hand count baby.

SO, what I need everyone to do is send me an email with a NEW title under the heading of Source Vote, and the city name you are voting for, so I can pull all of them up. I'll give it a week, than tally and compile. Hopefully we can have more success than our own recent presidential election.

Once we come to a decision on the City we will hold it in, then I will scoop someone(or two or three someones)to get together on the phone some weekend(conference calling roxxor j00) and see if we can pin down activities, hotels, etc etc. All the good stuff that goes in to a good organizational effort.

Now for the big decision. Where. I'll list the two cities that I propose, along with my reasons for it. I will accept write in votes...but I don't really think they would be necessary.

First(and foremost in my heart, sadly enough) is Erie, Pa.

Reasons: It's relatively close to the east coast. I know it very well(I live here) Central enough that our midwestern friends and Canuck friends can probably drive here. There IS a respectable Source presence in Erie itself. And I know of many people within a 6 -8 hour drive or less. Cuts down on expenditures for those of us with limited means if you can drive instead of fly. Even people with families could bring them...there are things for the wee ones to if you so chose to bring said wee ones. Anyway, like I said, I know the city better, and would, and selfishly I admit, be easier for me to organize here rather than somewhere else. Not many downsides, but I don't think it's quite as attractive as the other city on my list.

Second possibility, Manchester (NH?)

Reasons: Much larger population of Sourcers (including our beloved founder, Mr. Wakefield, in New England. Honestly, I would rather go to Manchester...I've never been there before, and love seeing new places, BUT I would need assistance in organizing anything up there. As I said above, I think Manchester would probably be a more attractive place to go. Could be some bias because I've never been there, but still... Downside is I think more people would have to fly rather than drive, and I would need someone to help with any kind of hotel arrangements and activities that took place there. Not sure if anyone wants to step up to the plate on that one.

After reading that...hhmm...not really good factual reasons for one or the other, eh? Ok, then I guess it will be like this. Erie, Pa. or Manchester, NH. Make your vote. Let me know so I can move forward and see about group hotel rates, etc etc.

Not sure yet even what kind of activities we might arrange. A large group dinner is one, obviously, but other than that? Think it might just be a blast sitting around, sipping a drink, and BSing. Maybe some minor site seeing...but the biggest reason 'I' want to do this is to meet some of my Source brethren, so outside activities for me are just a bonus. But if anyone has any ideas they'd like to suggest, I'd be more than happy to get a committee together, and see what we can put out there.

Now, last but not least, VOTE. Also, if possible, when you do vote, let me know any thoughts or opinions you may have as far as why one place, or another, or hell, even a write in vote. If someone has a killer write-in idea..I'll send that out to the list for consideration also.

instead I will be using Haroji. Haroji is almost a 12th level unarmed fighter/archer. He, like Ji-Masoto, plays on Harvestgain. Okay. I'd just like to write up a little introduction. As you have all heard, I'm new to the Source. I've been wanting to join The Source ever since I met you guys when I first came to Darktide. My characters name is Li Tsuiho, but some of you might remember me as the swordswoman Medea Lethe.
I rerolled for Li because Medea was, frankly, quite gimped. No Item, no Life. Eek! So, I rerolled and created an archmage. I am sworn to Fletch. I was just sworn temporarily to Kumo because no one was on who could get to Fletch at the time. But that situation is corrected.

Sorry to leave anybody who I didn't talk to hanging. Fight Night is being delayed until the Friday after next. Just to many people couldn't make it to this friday, and this should give plenty of time for planning. Patch Day Hodag Caution 7:46am EST - Rojon

Yes, every month I warn you that the Hodag Portal Mule trick might get nerfed and every month I suggest that if you have any intent of going to Ayan that you log off there the day before the patch.

Well, its come to my attention that people are now using Hodag portal mules to raid on Darktide, and that at least one server has leveled a Hodag to 45 and is now using it to portal people to Aerlinthe. On
top of that, the developers have acknowleged that this is a problem and will probably be taking action.

So, in MY opinion, if the Hodag bug isn't fixed in tomorrow's patch, it will probably be done by December. If you ever think you will ever have any desire to visit Ayan, I suggest you hop a Hodag portal from myself or Diggler sometime today and log off in Ayan. You don't have to LS there, and you can even run back to Mayoi easily if you wish, but once the portal bug is fixed it will become a lot harder to get there.

Heya folks,

Its getting close to patch day,so I decided I'd update what I have seen things trading for in the past week....

well,the economy basically looks like this....

1 pyreal mote=1 dark speck=50k pyreals
2 motes=1 sturdy iron key=100k (you can buy keys all day in ayan at this price)
5 keys=1 cracked shard (yes,like it or not,crack has inflated to 5 keys now....on a good day)

other items of note:
intrically carved dark rev bones have been trading anywhere from 15 keys to a small shard.
Virindi masks have been very hot items,going for a tiny shard all the way up to 6 cracked at one point.(look for these to stabilize quite a bit as more of them are introduced into the marketplace)

The inflated price of crack has me astounded right now,and it looks like there is no end to the inflation until turbine introduces another quest item,with the usefulness and popularity of GSA.........Or they fix the SIK chests to give a good pull once in a while,to increase the value of SIK's.

please note that all the information provided here is to be used only as a guide,there is no set price in the world of trading.If you see something that you want,and you have a big enough pocketbook,by all means GO for it =)

Aright I just wanted to lay this out there for those that haven't heard me rant yet...

The last week or so I have been hanging out with a mage type on Aerlinthe Isle and cold kicking ass. I have never really gotten into the whole power level thing (thus gimp 59 after playing since the first month or so). Recently though I can't express enough the power of tag teaming with someone who complements your skill set.

What I am trying to say is that with working in conjunction with one other person we are able to destroy in an incredible capacity. I one hit bandy maulers with imperil/vun V and always one hit with VIs. I get damage messages that say things like you Cut banderling mangler for 558 points damage!!

Wow is that cool. Wow suddenly its stupid when I am out solo and get you scratch banderling mauler for 33 points damage!!

I have had more fun recently than I thought I would ever again having played this game for so long.

Sooo... suppose I should make a point.

Point is I love being a gimp. I like being forced into teamwork and I like the results that it ends in.

Figured it was getting around that time for the next Fight Night. Asked TSS bout it and he said drop a post here, so that's what I'm doing:). So, what's the word on this, when are we planning on having another? TSS said he doesn't want to host the next since he was the host of the last. Anyone up for hosting the next one?? If not I will be more than happy to. I think this next one will be great fun with so many 40+ and upper 30's people now. What does everybody else think?

Sorry that I haven't been on much... I have been playing.. but nowhere near as much as I used to (trying to get a life outside of AC) .... and when I have been playing I've been playing on DT as Pedro

yesterday I played from 7 am to 8:30 am est and 8 pm to 9 pm est. all of which on DT

I'm not moving to DT ... but I have a character over there that I'm developing... I should not have used a different template other then HG as it encourages me to play Pedro... having Life magic on a UA melee is totally new to me and fun... the first time I put imperial (and the only time I did it) on an Umbris and beat her like the biotch she is with my nekode I was in love with the template.... so when I log on I tend to go for Pedro... I'm not a big fan of DT as there are way too many buttheads (I find more of them on DT then HG) for me....

I assume that I will be back to HG soon to play full time... I finished my goal on DT and made a character big enough to adventure with Druss & Sister C.. Pedro is lvl 41 .....

but until then I think that people need to take a look at the allegiance structure and decide if the number of people leaving HG lately is some part due to the fact that I am never seen.. people never seen the original members anymore ....

the group has the most fun when there are events going on and there have been few events also.... both DT and HG had group events last night and early this morning both list servers were alive with post about the trips... the group always gets old and board when people aren't getting together at least once a week for quest or hanging out in the same kill zone...

oh well just rambling ... must head to work.... um 5 min ago....

Others will comment I'm sure, but all i can say was that the Hellfire managed to get lured off the mountain where we all ounced on it, and the kill was mine! ;)

You have my gratitude for performing permabuffing services for all of the people in the monarchy. As Druss always says, buffs are a priviledge, not a right.

How did my buffs work out?

Well, I refuse to use them in PK, so I just went to the OHN.

It is nuts. There are LV 39's down there on Level 5 because they can't die. Of course, I can't die either, and I'm LV 55, so I take bunch of kills and they leave (or they forget that yes, if the Olthoi get behind you because you are dumb, you can die).

Since I take either 1 or 0 damage from every hit, I never even need stamina. Once I get down to 100 HP, I stand still for about 10 seconds, get 20 stamina, and heal back to full.

The result? 1.5 million XP in 2 hours.
