The Best Game Ever
March 3, 2000

When I started this game, I posted quite a bit to these boards about things that I thought that were wrong with the game, and things I would liketo see changed. I signed everything with "Ranter" because that was all I did. It's my nature. I was one of those guys that Turbine hates. I quit playing the game just long enough to post about some imbalance. But I always was very clear that this was the best game ever. That I just wanted it better. Now its just the best game ever.
Period.
My melee axe fighter guy is now on par with other classes. I can now see the bonuses that fighters have over other classes, as well as Turbine fixing how weak they were.
I just want to say THANK YOU Turbine.
I have an awesome, amazing group of people in my alliance (no, we are not recruiting, we have too many people already at 95), who adventure together all the time. All of us are working on so many quests and things to do that this game is never boring.
Many of us are high enough level to start smashing Olthoi, so we are experimenting with the Lair of Death right now. Taking a large portion of your alliance like this, to a really high level place is amazing fun.
Working on the Mote Quest. Of course, we are all frantically looking for motes. We also have to get an alchemist up to 250, so we started a new character and had a bunch of people pledge new characters to him, specialized in Loyalty, and we're working him up in levels just by adventuring with the little guys. The cool thing is that once they get to be level twelve, we will open a portal to the PK alter and start having friendly duels with them in our home town. What a blast!
The frore quest continues, with all the higher levels looking for Lich Seals for the quest. Also something we are all looking forward to doing.
The quest for good weapons for everyone is always on going, as is good armor. Since we can now just barely kill Olthoi Nobles, we should start to see that come to fruition soon.
Spring looks amazing, and the pollen and the shadows and the whole storyline with them is just AMAZING!!!
As an alliance monarch, I am researching THE TEST that is going on right now, and always keep myself healed to full, carying a bunch of healing potions and stamina potions and just can't wait for the day when it flashes across people's screens and says that I didn't fail, but actually passed. I'm waiting Turbine. Whisk me away and give me my shot at theglittering prize - I'm beggin ya here! (ps, does anyone know if I have to have my Atlan axe to be tested? Because I've said I would get my axe last in my alliance and make sure everyone else has one first. So, I hope I'm not being punished for that....)
There is more cool stuff that I could keep posting on, but hey, you get the idea. This game is the best thing ever. It's amazing, and Turbine isdoing a flawless job listening to customers, adding new content and keeping things interesting.
On a side note, I saw someone bitching that casual players are being ignored because they will never have enough motes to make a peerless weapon. That everything that's done seems to be for people who play all the time.
Here's why that is. - If you are a casual gamer, then there is MORE than enough content to keep you happy with the world the way it is. If you are a casual gamer, you cannot possibly have done even 1/25th of the things there are to do in this land. They don't need to have Atlan weapons for you, because you probably don't even have a blood drinker III weapon yet. I just have to wonder - What are you thinking?
So, just a note to say THANKS TURBINE!! This game is the best game ever!!
