Warrior Advice
July 11, 2000

Hi Rachel,

Sorry about last night.

I was talking with no one last night, and then all of a sudden I was talking
with you, Silent and Zak all at once, while running from Teth back to mayoi.

Very dangerous. :-)

(For those uninformed, Rachelle messaged me last night, a little concerneed
about how her character was coming along.)

So heres the info you were looking for.

With your stats at

70
60
70
40
40
40

Looking at your first three stats, you are what is known as a hybrid
warrior.

Hybrid Warriors are mages that use a sword.

Since you started both focus and self at around 40 I think you said, you are
relying on Magic to make you into a kick ass warrior.

This has ups and downs.

The ups

You will be able to do lots of powerful magic earlier than a lot of people.

You will get level 6's before a lot of other warriors.

Your drains are more effective than a lot of other warriors.

Sac on HG has stats a lot like yours, and he is the biggest beating stick
ever for his level. He gets loot rights over warriors 10-15 levels higher
than him. Sac has creature, item, and life.

Upside is that when you are level 20, you really start to come into it. When
you are level 30, you will be AMAZING.

The downside.

imagine starting a Mage with a 70 in focus and self.

Because a sword warriors primary stats are str and coord.

Your warrior is not like Silent and I, she is more of a hybrid.

Silent and I started

100
100
100
10
10
10

Slow as dirt, but the best tanks ever.

We have TONS of hit points, maximum axe skill, maximum stamina.

Upside to this is we can tank a lot of things others can't. We can hit
things a lot of others can't.

Marilyn started with 80 endurance, and she and I and silent are always the
last to run in the Lug Citadel. When all hell breaks loose, you can bet that
is the Source that are the last ones standing while everyone else is at the
entrance. Marilyn almost never has to lay down because dagger uses almost
nothing for stamina. And she started so high on endurance

After a huge fight, 8 guys around us all lie down. Marilyn and I and silent
go looking for more.

My thoughts to you are this

A) Stick with Herrimone if you understand that you will be huge at level 20,
and amazing at level 30, then stick it out. You will probably want to get
creature, but this means more comps and more burden. But, with preparation,
you will be able to take on a lot of stuff others cannot even touch.

B) if you want to modify her to be more of tank, you need to rerole as 100,
50, 100, 50, 10 10, which is what I recommend for Sword. I might be wrong on
this. But this way you get maximum sword, but good speed as well, and sword
is a faster weapon than axe. But, well, Silent uses spear with a ten speed
and seems to be happy with it. So, you might want to just go 100,100,100,
10, 10 10 and try out what it is like to be a REAL tank. I say this because
I think you said you were sick of juggling comps, so maybe you want to try
being primarily a warrior, as opposed to a hybrid with powerful magic.
Thoughts on this Silent and Drake? I'm especially interested in Drakes
thoughts because he started very close to 100, 50, 100, 50, 10 10

C) You may be more comfortable playing a dagger warrior like Sister C. A lot
of benefits to this, and stats need to be 100 coord and 100 speed, and
everything else can be divided any way you like. Dagger is the only weapon
skill based speed and coord, so your melee defense and attack skill are
based on the same two stats. It is very cool. Your damage is very low, but
very fast and you are light, quick, agile and a beating stick, Good quest
weapon to go get at level 12, and running fast is very good.

D) You may wish to try axe. If you like killing things with one blow, and
being a big ol tank, axe or mace is your best bet, and I still like axe a
lot better. These weapons are made for the 100, 100, 100, 10, 10 10. You
might want to look at the mace quest that is being put in this month before
you decide. using these stats, and using axe or mace, you can clear monounga
hill at about 7th to 8th level just by running up and killing everything.
All in one swoop. (not one swing, but, by running up and just killing
everything without running or resting.)

Hope that helps
