I've been long trying to come up with a new template as we learn
more about
this game. Its always fun to try and break stuff.
This template is taken off of an idea that Dave had a long time
ago. That
you maximize the skills associated with the most important attributes.
Str + Coord = Axe skill
Coord + Focus = healing skill
Focus = arcane lore (specialized)
Focus is so good for both magic skill and for identifying items
and a host
of other things.
High magic skill is excellent for a warrior so they have uber item
magic
skill.
Things that are unimportant
endurance. Many templates for warriors are ignoring endurance because
you
get to raise stamin, health, and endurance, so the initail starting
10 is
not that important in the long run.
Speed - TL template has always been slow. You can up run as much
as you
want. Attack speed is slow anyway, I've never had the much of a
problem with
it. Did you know that starting with a 10 quickness, my melee defense
is
within 15 points of Sister C's and she is 3 levels higher than me?
Speed is
important in a number of different templates, but not this one.
Self. Self is used for mana and for magic skill. So we can go 50/50
in focus
and self and get the same magic skill and more mana. Or we can go
with
100/10 and get a TON more arcane lore, the ability to id things,
and just
less mana. Less mana is like less stamina. It eventually won't matter
at
higher levels since it is a secondary attribute. I started with
a 10 self
and I have 175 mana right now.
Get life at 15 or so, whatever, and you're done.
