I'm going to ask some questions, and tell this from a trictly anti point of
view because thats what I am. But I know this applies to pks vs antis as
well.

Heres some odd things that have happened to me, or to friends. I want to
know if I am thinking about them correctly, or if I am whacked. All examples
will be simplified.

I guard a town.

A guy comes into town, 10 levels higher than me and kills everyone in town.
Including me. The next night, the same thing happens.

This person kills people from level 1-30, loots everyone, and leaves.

The next night, I have some help.

Three people my level gang up on the higher level guy and kill him. While we
are doing this he is constantly typing in caps "THREE ON ONE??? THREE ON
ONE???" And then comes back into town while white and calls us all lame for
ganging up on him, despite the fact that we are all ten levels lower than
him.

Am I whacked, or is this guy just a total maggot?

Is it somehow ok to kill people 39 levels below you? But not ok to have 3
people kill you?

Is it somehow ok to raid town, but not ok to defend it?

Is this guy just a maggot? or do I have no honor for attacking him with two
other guys?

I ask myself this question alot.

Question two.

A guy raids town. He loses something he really likes. I message him and ask
if he wants it back. He is thrilled to have back his (matty coat, olthoi
helm, frore helm, amuli, whatever) and thanks me and says I am cool.

The next night he raids town again, and again I kill him.

He messages me and says "What the hell, I thought we were cool?"

Um, no matter what I think of you as a person, this is a GAME. You are on
the opposing side. If you raid my town, it is my job to kill you. No matter
how cool we are in chat, or whatever, if you are PK, I must slay you. Its
that simple.

Whenever I give someone back their stuff, or say nice fight and have a good
conversation, I then get the misconception that I won't attack that person.

Am I alone in thinking this way? or am I supposed to just stand by while
this PK raids my town and let him kill all the newbies while I watch?

A guy runs into town and attacks a newbie right in front of me. I attack him
and we have a pretty good battle. What turns the tide in my favor is the
lowbies that know who I am, and rush in to attack the PK, heal me, and cast
debuffs.

Why then do they message me that I lame for letting people heal me? or say
something insanely stupid like "I dare you to try that one on one phagg0t."

Um, you raided town. I guard town. The towns not supposed to rise up and
defend itself? Its the risk you take for raiding town, right?

Am I supposed to just tell people "Don't heal me!"

I get into a fight with a known member of another guild who I have battled
before. He lags out. He has imperil on him from a previous fight. He is
burdened with loot. He is making pizza. WHATEVER.

After I kill him, and loot him, he messages me "Oh man, I can't believe you
would take a kill like that. You are so lame! So lame!" Multiple tells
concerning honor, lost all respect for you, I would never do such a thing,
etc.

Am I lost in space or what?

Because I play on DARKTIDE. You know, the server that is supposed to be
tougher the other servers? I don't whine when people kill me, I don't make
excuses, and i do my best to say "nice fight" - win or lose.

If I lag out, well, sucks to be me. If I have imp on and I go to town, I
must be dumb if I die, I don't blame it on the guy who attacked me. If 16
guys attack my town and kill everyone there including me, well, thats a nice
raid, thats not "lame".

Am I missing something about this game? Some unwritten code when you are and
aren't supposed to loot someone, or times when you are or aren't supposed to
defend town? Or if you talk with someone after a fight, that means now they
can kill anyone they want in front of you because now you two are "cool?"
