| I log on with Balg in Eastham. Oh my god is the
lag bad. I can never tell if it's due to AC servers, my local connection,
the local crowds, or my pitifully slow machine (200mhz Cyrix). There
was a message that said to 'be careful,' because it takes a while
for the servers to balance out when lots of people are jumping on,
after the server maintenance. Well, I wasn't. Careful, that is. |
|
| The Eastham beach looked like a graveyard, there
were so many corpses. I did my civic duty and contributed a couple
myself. That seemed proper, with the primaries in IL today. "I pledge
allegiance, to the lag...one server, under lag, with latency and corpses
for all." |
|
| Maxed out at 17% vitae! A career high! Wohoo!!
And I'm proud to say, I wasn't selfish. I spread the wealth around.
Drudges, wasps, Gromnies, rats, they all got a corpse. There were
swarms of wasps on Eastham beach. As if they're not fast enough, I
looked like I was running through quicksand or jello on the beach.
And they were skating everywhere! What a party! |
|
| Oh look, 3 blue wasps just spawned on top of me!
What fun! Slash, slash, pierce, pierce, oh what a relief...nevermind.
I even tried logging out myself once as I was under attack. Logged
back in at the lifestone +5%. One time I got kicked off. Logged back
in at the lifestone +5%. I'm sick of this, time to explore, start
down the road to Rithwic. Look, cute little drudges, might as well
work off a little vitae. Skaaate, Jello-walk, oh look, back at the
lifestone +5%. |
|
| I eventually escaped Eastham. I'm already bored
with the same places we've been for awhile, so I explored a bit. Found
the Dungeon Mei outside of Shoushi. Briefly explored it. Lots of Grey
rats right at the beginning, and undead unreachable but close enough
to throw Fester on you. How nice. Got through the first few Grey Rats.
More rats come tearing around a corner. Oh look, they're different.
They're black. Now isn't that what this game is all about? Finding
new things? Hey, they're faster and hit harder - how nice! They're
nice enough to give me a purple tunnel ride back to Eastham, because
I'm too lazy and stupid to find a lifestone near Shoushi. |
|
| When I go back I find a fighter near the entrance
and ask him for help. He agrees and we head towards the dungeon. Oh
look, a pack of dillos that weren't there before. We run around like
idiots and they almost kill both of us. Thanks to vitae all night,
I've been burning components faster. Oh look, I can't cast life spells!
Puish Zha...crap. What a pleasant challenge. We eventually recover
my corpse, it really wasn't in very far. |
|
| I run down to Hebian-to for the first time. I
hear that's a fun place. I ask around and eventually find my way to
what someone called the Mosswart Fort, NW of town. Lifestone right
there, quite handy. Totally camped, though. Not much chance for XP
or looting there. Briefly saw Murkers and Barkers pop up before being
cut down. A couple Gromnies outside the walls. |
|
| Returned to Hebian-to to sell loot. Wow look at
those weapons! AT least compared to the starter towns. Bought an axe
for Barack for 2800. Gold Lightning Silifi, 6-11 base damage, BD2
and HS2. Pretty slow. But it should be cool. Saw a couple bows selling
for over 6k and 4K. One of them required a bow skill of 289! I don't
even know what I should be looking to buy as a mage. I spend enough
money on components and eventually on mana stones I'm sure. |
|
| Chatted with Khali a bit just before I got off.
That was fun. We were comparing loot finds, both good and ridiculous,
like that bow. Logged off waaay too late. All in all, the night ended
well. |
