| Drake was feeling kind of bored last night. The
thrill of the Bandie hill has been waning lately and he was craving
something new and challenging. Damion had told him about a fort north
of Hebian-To that he once lived at for some time. He said that it
was full of mosswarts and good hunting on the beaches. There were
supposedly Golems, Grommies, Mosswarts, Wasps, etc.... |
|
| So, Drake unloads his new hammer, one of his treasured
gifts that He-who-must-not-be-named has givin him, off his mule and
starts to head toward the Shoushi portal. The trip isn't a long one
so he desides to take out everything he sees in his travels. |
|
| He eventually comes across a tower with a lifestone
next to it. The fort is in sight from here so he hits the lifestone
and starts to the fort. To his dismay, the fort was full of adventurers.
He skips the fort and heads directly to the beaches. |
|
| Damion had told him correctly. The beaches were
full of various monsters that Drake had no problem dispatchin. Taking
on 4 azures was scary only the first time, wimps. |
|
| Drake spots something, a little ways up on shore,
moving in the shadows. He moves in and takes a closer look and finds
that there is a Shadow Child milling about. Only a child. He has heard
all sorts of tails about the shadows and how they are planning on
taking over the land. He stands there for a min. collecting his courage.
New and challenging right? |
|
| In he goes, swinging as hard as he can. He hears
a moan that sounds like it left his mouth and is startled for a sec.
expecting a big gash on him. Nothing, the sound was the Shadow grunting.
How haunting. The Shadow is pissed now and smacks Drake with a spell
for 20 health, ouch. I didn't know he children could cast! Another
moan leaves the shadows lips as Drakes fire axe cleaves him again.
|
|
| Then trouble. A sword comes in from behind Drake
and skewers him. He is startled my the appearance of another enemy
while trying to take out a life threatening opponent. He looks to
see what the new attacker is and goes white, another Shadow Child.
Too late to run now and past half helth so healing would most likely
fail a few times. No time. |
|
| Drake falls into his warrior instincs and ignores
all pain and fear of dieing. The first shadow child starts casting,
we'll have none of that! Swing, crit, dead! One down. Drake turns
quickly while swinging low for the second one. He hits him hard but
the shadow is nowhere near done yet. The shadow slices Drake a few
times before he can manage his next hit on the elusive demon. |
|
| The blood is running freely, from the numerous
wounds, all over Drake's body and health is running out. He can take
one more hit, maybe two, if the shadow casts....... Swing, hit, big
groan. The shadow starts to cast, Drake sidesteps quickly and the
spell narrowly misses him. He jumps in with the last of his strength
and will and cleaves the shadow in two with his mighty axe! |
|
| Drake stands there in disbelief. He collects there
loot and heads back to the tower to heal and rest. |
|
| Damion was right was what he thought. New and
challenging. |
