I pop on to take Boreal to Yanshi to do some shopping. A guy called Loki
the Mage /tells me hello and I tell him that I'm peaceful. He says, "me
too". I carry on shopping. Loki and some other guys are chasing each other
about. Didn't notice what levels they were. I'm almost done when Loki says
"let's get Boreal" and starts casting at me. I turn on him and smack him
with the Spine Axe - he evades. I smack him again for 13 - need one more
hit to kill him it looks like. I swing again and die in the middle, and
LOSE THE SPINE AXE - grrrrrrrrrr.

I see San Tsu at the LS and moan about it. I say I'm tempted to go into
town with Mhali and kick his ass and she says "that's within the rules". I
think "YEAH, DAMMIT!" So I get Mhali, cast Mana Conv Mastery, War Mastery
and Armor Self III and run to town. Loki the Mage is in the mage shop and
he's still hurt from the hit Boreal gave him. I run up behind him and cast
Frost Bolt III. I remembered a post from Druss saying "Who uses Cold based
attacks?" and figured he would not be prepared for that. He's not and falls
in one hit. I think RIGHT and start looting him. A guy comes in and starts
poking me with his sword. I stop looting and say "he killed my mule" but
the guy keeps poking. Hmm, too late to start on him. I am going down fast
here.

I think "can't run, can't fight, what do I do?"

The answer, as everybody knows, is PORTAL RECALL.

Only I can't cast Portal Recall without Item Enchantment Mastery and there's
not enough time for that.

Fizzle.

CAST!

I end up back at the meeting hall safely on THREE HEALTH!!!! I am shaking
madly in real life, can't believe I got away with it. I tell the guy who
nearly killed me asking if he is PK and it turns out he's anti... I explain
and we chat a little and he seems nice, I tell him I got a great adrenalin
rush from the fight even if we shouldn't really have been fighting. Then I
check the loot I got from Loki the Mage. It is a Kabuton with AL 100 - the
best loot I've got off ANYTHING on Darktide, wooooooo!!

Being a mage I don't really need it :-) So it's up for grabs - drop me a
/tell if you'd like my trophy to wear :-)
