| If you will recall when we first meet your Bride had just been abducted
by Lugians. A short time later she effects her self release. This
seemed to satisfy you but I am not so forgiving. I instituted operation
retaliation. This covert operation meet with a limited amount of success.
The problem arose when I could not discern the whereabouts of the
Lugian stronghold. As the years passed and the snows came and went
I made less and less progress toward this goal. Finally I decided
that other matters needed my attention as the shadow wars were upon
us. I assigned my pupil Zane Brendan to the task of finding and eliminating
the Lugian Threat. |

Late last month Zane cornered a Gigas Lugian in the mountains south
of Mayoi. He was able to "persuade" the brute to divulge the location
of the Lugian Base in exchange for a quick death. The Monster then
told Zane that there was THREE Bases all spread across the southern
lands. If you will remember we thought at first that the Lugians
were in possession of the northern mountains around the Bandit Castle
area. This news came as a shock to me. I had been looking in the
wrong place all these months. The following message came to me from
Zane on a decaying piece of Lugian skin. (I swear that boy aint
right)
Mizu-No
I have located the First of the Lugain strongholds and have
successfully penetrated the outer defenses. The Lugians are apparently
working around the clock to portal in reinforcements. Many teams
of adventures have advanced into the corridors only to be swarmed
and destroyed by groups of lithos and gigas. I have found a place
to hide and kill the occasional loner that comes down the corridor
to the room I am in. Every couple of days a groups of 3 Obeloths
come to investigate the area and I have been successful in destroying
them. This brings in the Lithos taskmasters to investigate their
disappearance. These are harder but again no contest for my mastery
of the schools of magic. Once these brutes are dispatched it is
another day or so before another group of 3 come to look for them.
In this way I plan to whittle down their numbers and assault the
inner most rooms where the Gigas are hiding. The Heroes of the
area are in a high state of agitation and many teams of Warriors
have assemble to make sorties on the outmost fringes of the Lugain
holdings. This base should fall to the combined assault within
the month.

So my lord operation retaliation that was started so many years
ago is starting to bear some fruit.

| I anticipate the destruction of the First base of Lugians within
the month provided they don't continue their rapid portaling of troops.
This leads to the question of what they are going to do with these
troops? I Hear rumblings that the Othoi and Virrindi are doing the
same massive troop build up. Are they defending against the Heroes
of Dereth or are they planning on attacking someone or something else.
Hell even the Undead are sting from their graves and gathering together.
