After Zak, Kumo and I managed to kill the Guardian three times without me getting a helm, we were run off by a couple of PKs. (Zak made a stunning decision to cast Summon Portal. This, of course, threw them off so much that we both had a chance to LS recall. <grin>)

Later, Chinook logged on and I told him our tale of woe. At which point, true to his word, he extended his always open offer to help me get one. (You da man)

So we work our way down to the Guardian. First kill, as expected, he gets loot rights. Hey, he's a broken archer dude 10 levels my senior. My luck, no helm or shield on the guardian. Chinook is very upbeat and assures me that the next spawn will have one. He then magnanimously hands me HIS helm. What a guy.

So we wait, talk, and practice some emotes.

Second spawn....I dive in, take a couple of shots, dodge, parry, spin, hack, hack, hack, and he drops.

So Chinook walks up to the guardian and says, "helm".
I of course say, "Good".
He goes on to say, "Helm???YouHaveRights"
(who can see this coming?)
I'm so stunned that I beat Chinook for loot rights that I just open the corpse. Of course, since I already have a helm, there is no helm on the corpse.

Sigh.

So we wait, talk, and practice some more emotes. Ever spend a long period of down time with Chinook? I've never been so glad to see a space bar in my life!

Man, he's on perminent speed.

So, I'm burning too much mana, so I take off all my buff jewelery. Third spawn happens, and this time I just casually meander up to the guardian. The guardian recognized the incredible Mage that I am and starts to drain my mana. So I decide to slide yee Olde power bar all the way to the right. Bam, Biff, Sock... Not unlike a batman show. The guardian goes down. I step back. Chinook steps forward and says, "YoursAgain"

Woohoo! It's a good day to be a Paladin! This one finally had a helm, so we decided to call it a night. (I think I did detect a faint blush to Chinook's face, but I may have been imagining it.)

Well, it's about 3:30am here. I have no idea how this came out, but I had to share.
