Oberion's weekend, aka, The Mhali Syndrome
by Oberion (10/9/00)
Please ignore me, I just need to vent.

Keep in mind that Friday night we had a very successful quest. Even though
a big pk killed most of our party before the quest started.

Evil 1, Good 0, Items lost: Death items.

and Saturday night I finally had a chance to talk to Dark Archon and had a very enjoyable
dual with a high level mage. Which I lost

Evil 2, Good 0, Items lost: Death items + Fiery Shield.

But on Sunday morning, I decided that....

I hate this game...

Mhali, Zak, Drake and I start off to get a SOLL. We run for about an hour. Enjoyable
because of the company, but pretty tedious otherwise. We run from Pan Umbris Shadows,
Golems, Skeleton Bone Lords, etc. Oberion accidentally stopped to kill a Fragment and
was severely scolded by Mhali. :)

Anyway, when we finally get within smelling distance of the Halls of Lost Light, after
about an HOUR AND A HALF of running, I crest a hill and my screen freezes. Then I see
a message from Mhali...N0000000000000. And then I'm dead. By the way, did I mention
that I had a chance to attune to a local lifestone and decided not too?

Evil 2, Good -1, Items lost: Death items + Carebear Solls.

We spent the next hour trying to figure out some way of getting me back. No dice.

So we had to abandon the quest.... I hate this game.

Then I went to the Citadel to work of Vitae.

While I'm in the Citadel, Playtoy and El Negro come up behind me while I'm fighting Lithos. While they are both lower level than I am, they are uber buffed.

I'm at about 70% life and they kill me.

Evil 3, Good -1, Items lost: Death items + super helm.

I message them with the Good Fight, Nice Raid. And get trash talked. I want to find these
people in real life and hurt them. Really I do.

So I call in the BIG GUNS. Druss and Sister C. They promptly kill Playtoy, but El Negro must have been the one with my helm because Playtoy didn't drop jack.

So I head back to the Citadel to work of more vitae. Now, just El Negro shows up. I suppose this is because Playtoy lost his Uber buffs on death.

Once again he engages me while I'm fighting a Lithos. But this time I'm ready for him. The Lithos falls and I turn to him and we start going at it. I'm not going to break. I would rather die then run from this punk.

And when I'm at 10 stamina, he turns and starts that wonderful slow motion run. He's exhausted. He's going to die! And I start pounding him, but because he is uber buffed I'm not doing enough damage.

Note to self: should have switched to my hollow sword.

He drinks a stamina potion and starts running full speed, but I'm still on him. While at about 10 life, he hits the portal and logs.

I hate this game.

So I hunt some more until I see him log back in. Run to the entance and we dance again. Until he portal logs.

I hate this game. This happens a third time.

At this point, I imagine that he found a way to get Playtoy Uber buffed again.

Because they both show up. Yep, I'm in the middle of a pack of Lithos. Yep, I'm at about 70% health and stamina. Yep, I get rolled. I hate this game.

Evil 4, Good -1, Items lost: Death items + End III + Quick III.

I discovered later that I wasn't wearing my armor III ring. Which is why I was taking so much damage.

Sigh.... So, I'm down a bunch of death items, my super helm, my fiery shield, the solls that TSS gave me, my End III & my Quick III. And I got to SMELL the SOLL! Good weekend, NOT!

I'm very close to taking a page from the book of Pedro. Just head up north and living as a hermit and hunting Dillos until I have more lev III jewelry than my mule can carry.

But first I have to make lev 30 so I can swear to Zak.

Which means more time in the Citadel.

Man, I hate this game.
