We're throwing words like confetti today, do any of us poor, lag-weary
warriors have any words left for basic, fundamental understanding
of the game?
Two great posts by Druss, some poignant questions from Rojon and
more thoughts by Chinook...but I can't help but feel we're delving
into the secrets of a Darktide mentality that doesn't exist. :)
So I'll just tell you how I play Darktide.
- If I see someone who randomly murders people, I will kill them.
- If I see someone who randomly murders people, and he has 20%
vitae and is hunting to get rid of it, I will kill him.
- If he is fighting another anti, I will kill him.
- If he is getting attacked by five guys, I will join in and
make it 6 on 1.
- If he lags out and gets disconnected and runs against a wall
for 5 minutes, I will kill and loot him and squelch him when he
comes back and swears at me.
- If he is laying down, I will attack.
- If his house catches fire and he has to go afk, I will kill
him, loot him, and squelch him when he comes back and swears at
me.
- I will kill his mules and loot them. Repeatedly.
- I will kill his secondary characters.
- I will kill any vassals of his that he is twinking or helping
to level.
- If he comes to where I'm hunting and starts hunting there like
I am his best buddy, I will kill him. I will loot his kills also.
Why?
Because in a world without natural consequences for being an ass,
you have to create your own. And if you murder people who are peaceful,
your consequence is that I will attempt to kill you no matter how
lagged, unprepared, or afk you are, no matter how bad the odds are
against you, no matter how many Lifestones I have to camp, no matter
how many portals I have to camp, bodies I have to camp. It is that
simple.
My attacks will be flung at your vassals and your vassal's vassals
unless you stop your murders. No mercy for PK's. I will not hunt
with them, truce with them, help them. I will not hunt with their
vassals or associates.
I will hunt PKs ruthlessly, and I'll use any tactic to hand them
the 5% vitae they so richly deserve.
But there are things I will never do:
Lie.
Steal.
Portal Log.
That is how I play Darktide.
