Decisions have been made concerning the future of the DT Source, I thank all of you for your input. When you care about something a lot, you have to do a lot of thinking before you put constraints on it. Still, the DT Source is like a garden that must be hedged in before it goes wildly to seed :)

The Darktide Source will be capped at 20 members. There will never be any more than this, and if we reach 20, any HG Source who wants to come over to DT will have to start a second group under a different monarch. This cap has been implemented for a duo of reasons- firstly because large monarchies become unwieldy and impersonal, and secondly because with a 20 person cap, there is an end to the twinking and leveling. Once all twenty are above LV 25 and self-sufficient, you know how much fun we're going to have? A lot :) It will take time, but it can be done.

When I say 20, I am talking about twenty distinct people. Secondary characters like Fletch McGee and Blast Jr do not count towards the total.

The criterion for being a member of the DT Source are as follows:

You must follow the rules that I have set for the DT Source. If you don't know them, they'll be listed below. These are what set us apart from many of the other anti groups on DT- many antis are the whinest, "gimme my loot back" DT d00ds that you will ever meet.

You must play primarily on Darktide. Anyone who spends 50% of their time on Harvestgain need not apply here. If you don't think you can make that commitment, it would probably be best that you bow out to make room in the 20 for someone who can devote more time. You can still play on Darktide of course, but you'll have to do it in another monarchy, maybe start your own.

You must have a template that you are comfortable with. The nature of leveling to catch the high guys requires that you only play one character. It is just common sense.

You must be commited to helping your fellow DT Source. Now that there is a membership cap, the end is in sight! We just have to help the new guys catch up! And I for one am commited to doing just that!

You have to be subscribed to the DT Listserv. This is a great tool for communication and I think everyone should make use of it.

The Ninefold Path Of The Source

1. Never lie, cheat, or steal.

2. Never murder the innocent.

3. Never whine when someone kills you. If you have to say something, say "Nice fight."

4. Never talk trash after you kill someone.

5. If someone needs money, give it to them.

6. If someone needs body recovery help, help them.

7. Never break your word.

8. No acting like an ass. That means no spamming, harassment of people (even if they are losers), or juvenile behaviour. Remeber that your actions reflect upon your guildmates.

9. No d3wdsp34k. If I ever see you say "u r @ g00d m0n4rch" then you are out of the guild. (lol, ok, not really, but try to keep it to a minimum.

Let's take a break from all of this heavy-handed policy stuff and get real. I'm here to have fun, and so are all of you. And so far, I'm having a great time.

You know what I love?

I love the "OMG" I get when I hand someone a cool weapon I just found. I love the adventures that we have fighting hordes of Lugians, going on quests. I love the teamwork, and I love the company. I love the idea that we're working together for the common good.

I love amassing loot and making my character better, and I love handing out newly found treasures to my compatriots. I love exploring new dungeons and land areas, I love standing side by side with Druss and knowing that the Lugians have about 400 HP and 600 stamina to beat through before we drop.

I love the quality of posts on the DT list, the candid comments and thoughts, and the general aura of fellowship that comes to the forefront whenever someone needs something.

I love how Zak'Nafien and others can die 5 times in one night and come back swinging. I love chat logs and screenshots, anecdotes and commentary, articles and notes and stories.

This DT Source is a great thing. And it will only get better. It will take time, but we are simple people with simple pleasures, one of which happens to be playing a computer game. We'll make it eventually :). And it's my job as monarch not to let things get too complicated while we strive for excellence.

They won't. No one gets in but the best. And I'd like to say that this is one of the finest groups of people I've ever had the priveledge of being part of.
