It must be possible though, because Drake hit me for 112 with it and I'm not a mage. I'm as far from a mage as you can get. I think Weakness VI had something to do with this, it lowers your Axe skill, and your damage bonuses.

That is a fair hit for full power. At this point you have to break off before you start attacking again, in fact, if you even hear a vuln being cast, you have to get your prot pants/shirt ready to go on.

I'll grant that due to swing animation you couldn't break off, and also it will tell you that you are "too busy" to put your bludgeon protection shirt/pants on (I have had this happen to me). Unfortunate here, and it means you have to run.

He should have used Shock Wave IV, then you'd be dead. Your axe hits are pretty brutal here too, between 19 and 32 points.

23 point chase mode hit is pretty good. Right here, you should be breaking off to heal. Even if you got stuck in the swing animation again, you should have had Bludgeon Prot III or IV on my this time.

That was actually pretty low damage. He could have easily killed you with this shot. If you don't have the protect for his vuln, you should have just left and not chased him.

Mages will always beat melee who don't heal themselves and who don't protect against the vulns the mages are using. It is that simple. I hope you don't think I'm trying to be hurtful or that I'm being an asshole, but when I look over this log it looks like you could have done many things differently, with better results.
