On the trail of the Hoary Amoredillo 10:13am EST - Farik Il'Kadar

From the Wildlife Lover's Guide to Dereth, by Kuchai Shzan:

Hoary Armoredillo (armoredillus majestis). Level 99. This rare, elusive creature is native to the beaches of western Dereth.

It is much sought-after by Dereth's human adventurers. In the hands of a master craftsman, its hide can be fashioned into a full suit of strong, lightweight armor.

However, its spine, if taken intact, is most prized by Dereth's axepersons, for use in the construction or repair of a magical axe. The details of this process are a topic for another work.

The Hoary Armoredillo, normally shy and evasive, is also quite territorial, and easily provoked into whirlwind fits of rage. Many a foolish adventurer has attempted to tackle them single-handedly, only to be quickly and viciously slain. The Hoary attacks with its pointed beak, or with the spinning attack common to its lesser cousins, using its wicked dorsal plates to slash open its victim.

Wildlife observers are advised to keep a safe distance from these creatures. The mere sight of a Hoary Armoredillo is an event to be treasured. If you have seen one and are of an artistic bent, please contact the author.

(Okay Source, I made this up. There is, as far as I know, no such thing as a Hoary Armoredillo, I just wanted to tweak you)

Exile 10:29pm EST - Khali

I have been enjoying a brief, self-imposed exile from all things AC capped off by a fun week of birthday partying with my daughter just turned five. Seriously, I have been consumed by work and any spare time I have had has been spent with family matters, so I appologize to all who have been loyal to the site for the lack of content the past two weeks.

Tonight I put up a couple stories and did the photoshop work for a bunch of pictures, a whole slew from Deao up plus a couple hilarious shots from Mizu. I also need to get around to formatting Druss' opus on liches and vitae, but perhaps tomorrow. For now it was enough just to go through some old mails and get caught up on some correspondence.

Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive and that the site is still here. I have unsubscribed to the spam bot (otherwise known as the list serv) because I just don't have the time to go through it.
