At first, this didn't bother me. I mean, we're the Source, and Greed is a bad thing. So when a mage runs in and an Olthoi is on his tail, we help him out, and see who got the kill. If it is the mage, oh well.

But this started to happen ALL THE TIME. And I started to get suspicious. Every time the mage would run into the room, the olthoi was JUST BELOW HALF. So no matter what we did, this mage was going to get looting rights. I got the feeling he was blasting olthoi until it got to just below half, and then running it back to us to kill, then he would loot. That got old after the third time, let me tell you.

(side note - Look, I will apologize in advance for this rant. Khali posted extremly detailed instructions on how to get where you needed to go, where the lifestones where, portals to get there faster, etc. And no one but me printed them out? I got no less then six people asking me for instructions last night on how to get there. This doesn't bother me when it is before the meeting time, but when I am IN THE LAIR hunting olthoi, it is very hard to have to keep explaining how to get there. Thats a good way to die in the olthoi lair. Druss is extremly hard to play because of all the messages I get, and I had three magic fans message me in the olthoi lair, and another three in Fort Teth afterwards. (Which is fine - but gets exhasuting sometimes) If you have body recovery, or need some armor or cash, or a new patron, or whatever - Msg me at any time - and I will drop everything and come help and do what is needed. But when Khali goes to all the trouble to write down lifestones, portals, and the lair of death coords, please write them down before you sign on. Do not msg me for driving directions. You know, when I am Legend, I don't get this upset becasue I am only talking with Source members. But one night of playing Druss reminds me why I had to quit my favorite character. Not a lot of fun being in twitch mode in the olthoi lair.)

So anyway...

I was wondering about that. We went up to get someone in the entrance.

And as I am leaving, I hear fluellen say "My profound apologies my friend.." and then he is gone. And I wondered if Mizu had lost his temper with him like I was tempted to do. :-)

I don't know about anyone else - but if I am in the matty cave, and three spawn, and I kill two greats and have to run from the third, and some mage saves me, or two fighters save me - or whatever - I feel pretty good about them saving me, and try to give them treasure, or even let them loot my kills. I don't like vitae, and if they help me, I like to help them. Last night with the asses that we helped, we got NOTHING in return. No one thanked us. No one offered us loot, no one offered us anything.

We killed a noble, and the looting rights actually went to someone else, but I did not know this. I saw a dead noble, I clicked on it, and up came the treasure list. Wow, must be my kill - awesome. And oh god what an orgasmic pile of treasure. The best pile of treasure I have ever seen by a factor of 3. Gold amazing Breastplate, gold sleeves, Leggings,a sheild, a staff set with six fire opals and MORE!!! It was amazing!!!

Before I stole the wrong loot, I said out loud "Whose kill is this I am looting." And I said it again, and someone told me it was Kamasuta or something. So I tell him the loot is his, and let the window close.

The breastplate is like Al230, with 3 spells on it, must be Aluvian.

kamasutra goes on to tell us how amazing all his treasure is, almost rubbing our faces in it. Listing all the stats, all the spells, all the worth. He comes to the breastplate and says must be aluvian. I say "I am aluvian. Will you sell to me."

He says no.

Thanks Mizu. It was good adventuring with you again last night. Good adventuring with a lot of old friends actually. I miss Ai Renshai a lot too, and never got a chance to talk with her last night - bummer.

I like to think I have a pretty good reign on my temper, but last night a bit of a challenge.

But....

Much like the matty cave, I think respect is more important than loot. The matty cave is extremly frustrating, much like the olthoi lair. And I think the same tenants hold true. Do your best to control your temper abut the people getting the best loot. I know how hard it is, believe me.

Me too. Almost 1/2 the kills last night went to Miko and Simone. 1/3rd to Ai Renshai and Mizu, and the rest went to Druss and everyone else.

Classes all have different creatures that they can kill easily. Olthoi do not like Item Unarmned at ALL.

I don't think you are geting weaker at all Mizu - as you got a lot of loot rights last night. I just think that olthoi don't mind bows as much as they mind blunt steel fists hammering them 3 times a second.

I was getting about one kill in 10 until Gar buffed the crap out of me. Then I was getting about half.

I am usually broke because of all the things I am buying for Vassals.

I just spent 20k on swords for Hiro. I was looking for Axes for Rimgar until I saw that he has better axes than me. :-) I just gave Shadowweaver 10k and 2 magic items. Mare just gave Silver Fist a BD 3 Quickness self II bow. I gave cyblade a silifi 7-14 base. and I gave rhodry an amazing 8-16 axe he can't use the magic on yet. I gave cyblade 3-4 axes in the past two weeks, and a high base damage hammer that Mutt bought, gave to me, and let me give to him. I just bought Mutt some Green al 125 amuli leggings I found at fort Teth this morning. I know that Miko and Simone have given out hundreds of K worth of armor and weapons.

If there are people in the Source not getting stuff, its because we never see them, or do not know they need anything.

Or, they already have the best stuff we can find.

Shadowweaver asked me the other day for Focus III or Self III jewelry. I asked every mage I know - and every one of them has one, both, or none of these items just for themselves. They do not have any extra. They are usually looking for them themselves.

Mare has 4 bows muled right now.

All of them are various versions of Blood Drinker 2 bows. There is no one in the source who does not already have a bloood drinker 2 bow or better.

We just went to the Matty cave and got eight coats. All of them were given to vassals. I went on my own and got one for Legend, I did not take one of the Source coats.

Not to go off on you - but there is just not a lot of great stuff out there. Of the stuff we do have - yes, the higher levels have it. But every single thing we have extra is going to other source members.

I have to spend one day a week just raising money for all the mana stones, armor, money and weapons I give away every week.

Which of course, bring up the point of Mages under Mages as vassals again.

And fighters under fighters.

Because once I am done with Super Axe Joshie - I know who needs one.

If I have any mage vassals, I am never going to be able to pass on equipement that is amazing to them, because I am never going to have any....
